Sean ordered a beer from a cute blonde. “So, how’s your brother, Mike?”
“He’s doing all right. He’s – "
“Banging his next door neighbor,” Eric said, grinning. “I shouldn’t have said that.”
“Hanging out with his neighbor,” Mike finished.
“Banging,” Eric said. “Her.”
“Then he’s a little better off than I am,” Sean said.
“It’s gotten worse?” Mike asked.
“She sent an email to my parents that said all kinds of shit. That I should sell my house and use the money to pay for rehab. That I drink too much. All kinds of shit.”
“You can drink too much?” Mike asked.
“I think she’s grossly underestimated the value of your house,” Eric said.
“Maybe she’s accounting for relapses,” Mike said.
“Even with relapses, " Eric said, “Grossly underestimated. You can’t stand for that, man. Pull a ’Mike’s brother’ and bang a neighbor, bro.”
“I don’t think I’m quite that jaded,” Sean said. “But that waitress is an abomination of temptation. Do you think it’s too soon?”
“Not soon enough!” his friends replied in unison.
