Interesting take on the ‘edge of the world’. Not the physical planet, but one’s personal world.

The ‘4’ is because the narrative seemed a tad incoherent. I know I’m a repeat offender on this charge myself, but ‘stream-of-conciousness’ is REALLY tough to pull off right.

This is a good piece, but there are a couple of things you might want to change for clarity in the first paragraph. It should be something like “Knowing that, eventually, Dad would sleep that restful, only-happens-one-time-ever sleep.” It took me a minute to understand what you were saying the first time I read it.

Anyway, this is creative take on the edge of the world. Nice job.
