Gory, gory story from start to finish. Definitely fit the origin in dark fantasy. Whew, tough to read though first bits, but they burn with an honesty of the depravities man will go to when self preservation combines with greed. Gritty stuff, nicely told without overdoing it.

This is a great little series. I’m really enjoying the evil, misguided methods of the rangers juxtaposed against the savagery of the forest spiders.
