Couche couche (koosh koosh) – is a cornmeal cereal, usually eaten with milk or syrup. Chicory (chik-ory) is an herb whose roots are dried, ground, and roasted; used to flavor coffee. These genuine cajun dishes were intergrated into the story to create a more authentic “flavor.”
