Cancellation of Forces

The stars hold motionless in the sky
no ground beneath my feet
I remain in perfect suspension.

Frozen between up and down
in Lagrangian torpor
I’ve nothing to do but wait.

Resigned myself to fate
one which will surely bore
long before I drown.

No rescue of which to mention
this isolation complete
kept alive until I die.
