oh, what a beautiful rainbow...

Being a ten-year-old’s not easy you know. In fact, there are many things that are challenging in my life, even though many adults I’m sure would look at the life of a ten-year-old as being simple and uncomplicated.

Try being the passenger in the family car whilst on a long trip to somewhere you may or may not want to go, but the actuality of the journey is in no way affected by whether or not you wish to take it. A vacation. Four hours’ drive away. The destination will be fun, but my father never likes adding time to an already lengthy run, so an unbroken transit is his preferred method.

So I clamp my thighs tight and try to imagine I haven’t been holding on for about an hour (even though it feels like five). Eventually, I blurt it out: “Dad, I have to pee…BAD.”

Dad grumbles a muffled swear word as he pulls over, and I carefully, and unexertingly, get out of the car.

Standing roadside with my little penis in my hand, the relief is as beautiful as the small rainbow visible amongst my urine sprinkles.
