Waiting on the Train.

Though he had not posted in a while, the running narration in his head rarely ceased. He took in the world with as much detail as he could possibly commit to memory and then planned out the words he would use to relay the scene.

He stepped onto the platform to await his transfer. The familiarity of the scene would be known to anyone who had ridden these rails. A monotone audio announcement, a chime, the mechanical sounds of the doors sliding open, the rush of transferring passengers from one side of the platform to the other, more announcements, another ding, and the doors close behind them in a ballet of public transportation.

The commuters all step to the opposite end of the platform where they wait. The young, the old, the blue collar, the white collar, people of all colors, people from all nationalities, and people bound for all destinations, turn and stare down the tracks in the direction of the train that will soon be arriving as if they could bring it about more quickly through group telekinesis.
