Rather sad little couplet. Either way, it doesn’t wound up asked. Then again, you reread it carefully, and it’s a whole tragic situation, a lovely marriage perhaps? Unrequited love? A heart gone wandering?

All this wondering over two little lines, oh my.

yeah it’s like you are the one you love to love you back, which they don’t, and at the same time, you are asking the person who loves you to let go.
Unless this a riddle..
Some people can’t ask for help.. from anybody, loved or not.
You have a very good couplet. :)
