@Jesse- Silver represents redemption and salvation. Judas sold out Jesus for 30 pieces of silver (which is $200 modern day)— which was the price of a slave. If you look in the Bible, everything that involves 30 pieces of silver involves saving or redeeming something.
Gold represents the kingdom of heaven and purification. The streets of heaven are paved in gold according to scripture. The imagery used in the Bible describes human beings being like bronze then being refined over and over until they are like pure gold.
