House 48

I have this odd habit of always looking through peoples windows if the curtains are fully drawn. Most people think its impolite or just plain weird. Sometimes I catch the eye of the people inside, and see them pull facial expressions that border on the line of homicidal. Other times they sit solitude watching dumb TV shows or the news.

But this one house always has its curtains fully drawn, no matter what time of the day. I walk past it everyday on the way to University and look inside, wondering if anything inside will change.

It houses a large sitting table and a wide arrangement of crockery and china teapots, all arranged as if the owners are planning for guests. Seven identical engraved wooden tables line the table, all neatly tucked underneath. Old landscape paintings line the red & gold walls, and there is a wide double door at the back of the room.

At first glance the house looks like a private retirement home, yet I have never seen anyone enter or leave the house, nor is there ever a car outside.
