Starting A New Life On the Road
The train door closed as the passengers scrambled aboard. I could tell Sandra didn’t like this at all.
“James, I have to go home. What are my parents going to say when they find me missing!?” She yelled. “I don’t know. I’m sorry” I said. Then it finally occurred to me that Sandra’s parents cared about her.
I had to get her off the train. I turned to the man next to me. “Excuse me, but where is this train headed?” I asked. “New York, obviously.” The man said. I hastily looked at Sandra and then looked back out the window.
We were headed toward The Big Apple. I pulled a candy bar from my pocket and gave it to Sandra.
She snatched it angrily and took a big bite out of it. She was still angry with me after what I had done to her.
After an hour, she laid her head on my shoulder and fell asleep. I began feeling a bit drowsy, but I tried to stay awake.
However, it was no use and I quickly fell asleep too.
