I’ve never really seen a plot like this before; but then again I don’t read much romance books.

Ooh, now it’s all in question. Nice evasiveness on his part at the end there. One slip was her saying ’Don’t’ at the end of the paragraph that started with him talking. That took me a reread or two to make sure I followed who was speaking. Very nice arc, and I’m torn on whether he’s an oily schmuck, misunderstood/battered husband, or set up.

Sheesh! Tension in the air. I like it and can’t wait for a sequel!

Interesting that the title here is ‘Ruinous Words’ – suggests that his denial of what has been seen, trying to make it OK, is what’s really doing harm to the relationship here…
