Very sad. I liked how it started without being at all condescending towards her. One could almost believe they were coming. Lovely, tragic portrait.

A different, sadder kind of battle field.. I liked this piece but the naked part was a little odd to me; but actually that just added to the mystery of Lydia..

The whole basis of the story came from the song ‘Stars’ by Hum. The line goes… ‘I found her out back sitting naked looking up and looking dead’.
I wanted her to be a little crazy, thinking she was leaving on a spaceship, but this man just loves her so much anyway. He isn’t just battling her but her mental state as well. It was all very tragic and romantic in my head.

I like Lydia’s last line. It’s lighthearted and sheds a little hope on the situation.

Echoing all those above, you really captured both of the characters here very strongly indeed – believable and poignant…

I did find the lay-out a little distracting – it could have done with some cleaner breaks to read more easily, but with regards to content this was touching and original – MH :)
