Free Don Part 7
“Why?” I whispered. Tears rolled down my cheeks for some reason. I was annoyed. Why was I crying?
“So we can find out who you are, silly!” She smiled. We had said that hadn’t we? Or had we? It was all so distant. The memories danced in black like oil. Slippery.
“But I know who I am.” I cried. My voice shook. Even I didn’t believe my words. The pill swam purple.
“Do you Don? Do you really know? Take the pill and find out.” Her voice was firm at the last part, commanding. I stared at the pill. It promised me everything I couldn’t remember. I knew it did. Didn’t I?
I took the pill and my back arched like I had been struck by lighting. I yelled and gnashed my teeth and she laughed and laughed.
I’ve never felt so purple.
