“That is why we aim for the stars, no? So that if we fall, we may land on a cloud.” —deeeep
This is an excellent exploration of character, of a character’s own way of thinking and speaking and writing that is so completely different from your own voice, M. I really respect and appreciate how you latched onto a unique perspective and let them bleed out their heart on their own— like you had nothing to do with it— like you are a voice recorder for another soul. I like this, man. I’m not rating these until the end of the challenge, in case I get more submissions.
The character’s voice comes through, not any piece of your own, which is something very difficult to do. The letter makes me want it to be a bigger piece. Crimes? What crimes? What tainted the relationship? I’m itching for information, and that’s how it should be, haha.
“That is why we aim for the stars, no? So that if we fall, we may land on a cloud.” This is just brilliant. The whole piece is beautiful, the bitter sweet and the sense of urgency come through clearly.
