Definitely a bizarre situation that makes one think immediately of the tale of the elves and the shoemaker.

Reminds me of the saying ‘If you want to know a person, walk a thousand miles in their shoes.’ Or in this case, boots.

Thanks for the comments! Honestly I had never though of the elves and the shoemaker while writing this story. But I can definitely see it now:)

I did however have the saying “don’t judge a man until you’ve walked in his shoes” in mind while writing this!
