You again?

“Reginald? Is that you?” The shooter yelled from behind the bullet-pocked pillar.

“Gregori! I should have known,” Reginald said from behind his overturned oak desk as he slid new magazines into his smoking pistols.

“What are you doing here?” Gregori asked as he watched one of the security detail perform a rather grisly death rattle.

“I run this company. I’m the CEO. That’s my security team that you just shot full of holes. Surely you knew who you were coming after.”

“Of course,” Gregori said, “they told me I’d be killing a CEO. I just had no idea that Raul Vidal would actually be a four thousand year old immortal that I know as Reginald Pennyworth.”

“It’s a small world Gregori. You couldn’t have expected me to stay dead forever.”

“Stabbing didn’t work.”

“No, haha. Nor incineration in your case.”

“Gunfire nor dismemberment.”

“You dismembered me first.”

“Imprisonment, burial in concrete, sinking in the ocean. No.”

“Well, Greg, let’s try this again.”

The two ancients renewed an old fight.
