Nice story! The twist is a bit obscure without reading the two prequels, but I really like the bit about clawed hands digging in remembrance of an old, forgotten god.

I didn’t find thr twist obscure – I found it chillingly ambiguous… The fact that the little grandson knows more than his grandpa could have guessed, and could even be about to betray him…?
