Lost

Well, I’m lost. I knew I should have brought a map, but I overestimated my knowledge of the area and decided to go without one. Now I’m in the middle of nowhere, without the faintest idea as to where I am or where I’m heading.

I wander aimlessly, looking everywhere and anywhere for a clue as to where I am. After several hours, I feel like my quest is moot when at the turn in the road I perceive a house. I scramble over toward it, happy that I have found a respite from my travels.

I knock on the door, hoping someone might answer. When no-one comes, I tentatively check the doorknob to see if it is loose. It is, and I slowly open the door.

I quickly realize I should not have stopped by.
