Yeah, it’s a good thing. It’s a powerful thing. I’m not rating any of these only because I don’t want people to think I was pre-determining who wins, but this would have gotten all five.
Crying is overdone in movies and books… but the way it is put forth here, with so much energy leading to pure exhaustion, is what struck a cord… this is about letting it out in an instance of complete abandon, an absolute malleting of inhibition— it’s a snapshot representing something that isn’t contrived, controlled, fake, or phony. It’s real in essence. I can’t even begin to imagine how someone goes on after the most important person in their life is gone forever— and this is about that as well.
Thank you so very much Tad. It makes me feel good that I was able to convey what it was I was going for. The thing about grief that not many understand is that it never goes away. It’s you who changes, who becomes used to carrying it and that’s part of what I wanted to say too.
Cassy, welcome to Ficly! I hope you stay around and add to the richness that is this place. I’m thankful I could entice you to stay. :)
^^ Thanks! I quite like a lot of everything on here already. Might actually writing something soon.
(P.S. My name isn’t Cassy, but you can call me that if you like. Cassy’s actually my NaNo character. Cassy The-Chocolate-Thief Gale is one of her nicknames.)
