Scattered Attention
“What were you saying?” Her eyes squinted as she turned away from the transparent thigh of the naked woman, she could still hear her flirtatious laugh, and she tried to ignore the apparition. “Are you okay…you seem distracted. I understand if you don’t want to go out with me-.” He stopped there as she lifted a hand and shook her head, her eyes clenched tight for a moment, then she lifted the hand to her face to pinch the bridge of her nose.
“It’s not that, Bradley. I’m having one of those days.” They rounded a corner and she suddenly turned around, wide eyed, and he was forced to stop as he almost banged into her. “Sasha? What’s wrong?” He looked past her and saw nothing then looked back to her flushed face and frowned. No, he wouldn’t see the smoky image of two guys gang banging the girl on that street corner – only she had that unpleasant window into the past. She pulled out her pill box and tapped two onto her palm then swallowed the pair without a drink. “There’s something you should know.”
