The Sky People... part 1

“Direct Hit” she said, “Salvage the ruins now, we need it intact.”
The soldiers ran down the hill. Noble, Sawyer, and Martin.
Sarah stayed behind, surveying everything through the powerful scope of her rifle.
It had been 6 months, 2 weeks, 5 days since she had arrived. Everyone had believed her. The sole survivor of an underground camp.
They had been assigned to shoot down an intel drone, retrieve it and bring it back to the Central Command. So far, other attempts had failed. The Sky People were good at keeping their secrets.
But not after today. Noble got there first. Fired round after round into the drone. Had to make sure it was dead. Martin knelt, and with time, they had what they wanted. The logs. Mission objectives, troop displacements, etc.
“What now?” said Noble over the link.
“Does everyone have their intel at hand?”
They confirmed. Sounds of battle in the distance. They had been discovered.
“Split up, avoid capture, we’ll rendezvous back at L1”
She grabbed her rifle. Ran as fast as she could.
