Yeah I’ve heard this a lot, not from my mother actually, who would like me to make a living at whatever motivates me to create, but from other friends. Sometimes they are speaking to me and sometimes they are speaking to each other. The dream cracks a little, when as Kihd said, self-esteem plummets. It can be useful, as it can spur me on to get better, to prove myself. But it never feels good, even when I hear it applied to other people. I think you’re a great writer and with patience and dedication more people will recognize that. I mean, look how much you’ve said AND inspired with a meager seventeen words.
