Based on style of Toni Morrison — a child’s thoughts

I respect you for taking a risk and trying something completely new… this made little sense to me until I heard the mother’s voice toward the end, and then of course your comment drove the point home. I like it though… this style seems very authentic to how a baby must think and learn and it’s interesting that you’ve essentially given the voiceless (as in speechless, not volume-less!) a voice.

Looking back, the format was different when I was writing it. I spaced out the words a little, if you receive my meaning.

Very brave to try and realistically tackle a stream of consciousness piece from the mind of a toddler…

I particularly like the questioning nature of the voice – it’s endearing, and the character’s own unawareness of the situation helped guide the reader through.

Interesting stuff indeed – a little different, and pencil-worthy for it – MH :)
