I like this, you’ve created a really forlorn, moody atmosphere. I’m reading it with the narrator being a ghost or something similar, but it could probably work as a living person as well – either the death of a relationship, or events following an actual death.

Thanks for the comment Camille! Yeah I started out in the ghost vein, but it occurred to me it could be both, too. Fun when that happens unexpectedly.
