Good Hope

“Your empire has never heard of trade, how is that possible?” she asked.
The escort said nothing. His job was only to guide her through the fog safely. Nothing more. Soon, it began to dissipate. At a distance, another man, dressed in fine clothing, the likes of which she had never seen before. Everything seemed so primitive compared to them.
“I am Arwing, my job is to oversee emissaries like yourself, answer their queries and send them on their way, we mean you no harm in any way, shape or form. What is your name?”
There was silence. She could not believe her eyes. The rumors about Good Hope were true.
“I am Eliza, an emissary from Great Britain, we’re here to address some rumors about these unexplored lands”
“Unexplored to you perhaps, but the citizens of Good Hope have flourished in these lands for hundreds of years”
“How did you get here?”
“Through the great journey, we had to leave our society, taking a huge risk, but we have thrived”
“Where did you come from?”
“I’m not allowed to say more for now”
