Hmmm… seems very “stream-of-consciousness”-ish. It conveys a sense of pointlessness, which I hope is not the case. ^_

A “present” style (if that’s the correct thing to call it…) “Hands paused /Buzz goes the cell phone/Lids raise”, as if this was being written as it happened, yet there’s a little hop-skip at the end, loner there/loner gone.

Writing a story while sat at a school computer? Nicely written. It flows well, and the language is both ornate and natural.

Oh, just one question: what’s the significance of the first three lines?

I noticed that italics and bold were text options and had never tried them before. It was a test.

Sorry I’m no good at tags. This was written at school when I couldn’t get beyond a certain number of distractions and writer’s block.

I was right – freewriting! (without pause). It really is a good way to blast through a mental block, although distractions can really hinder and harm the creative flow.

Don’t worry about the tags – it just gives your loyal fanbase more insight into the work. :3
