This has a great flow to it, very intuitive and informative, and there’s something about the eccentricity that also helps make it great.

I love this and the piece that inspired it – I think yours is different enough to be original while containing all of the hinted-at elements of the first. Gregory reminds me a little of Professor Challenger (or maybe Lord Roxton). This is not a bad thing.
