Sweet – I like how this one provides a lot of backstory, but doesn’t expose what is actually going on, leaving the details both to the context provided by the challenge and the reader’s imagination.
Oh, I love this. Very real – his susceptibility to popularity and praise, and her resentment of whatever had happened because of it. The only phrase of writing that bothers me is “we was here” in the second paragraph. Did you mean to say “she was here,” because ‘we’ is plural… But otherwise, I loved it.
