A nice effort to set up both a prequel option and a very strong possibility for a sequel. It’s a shame nobody took up the task.
I will say though, mixing your tenses absolutely killed it for me. I’m going to do a blog post on it, so I’ll save my breath here. Short version, if you do present tense, make sure the whole thing is in that tense.
