I really like the imagery here and the ability to convey a personal history within the restrictions on Ficly.

I do love the fact that this piece could come from any number of genres, his name is Charlie.

I just want to add that I read your story before I looked at the challenge.

Interesting take on the challenge. It’s a bit vague, which I’m sure was intentional, and leaves a bit of reader interpretation out there. Ultimately, I can’t quite put my finger on exactly what this is about and it irks me for some reason. That being said, I do believe it’s very well written and dark as night.

All the elements to identify Charlie are contained within the story.

I am guessing that what irks you is that you know Charlie from somewhere, but cannot quite place where.

If you Google Charlie or variations on this name the answer might pop up before you.

Then the story will malke more sense or possibly less sense to you. :)
