Excellent. I’m trying to pull the reader into the character’s emotions.

Definitely felt the pain there, and lots of backstory flowing out around the emotional hurt. Didn’t quite follow the first sentence in the italicized portion. I’m not sure if she’s a jerk or some big miscommunicaiton happened.
