they taunted that it was too early still. (…) Lyrics taunted — the repetition of “taunted” so close together felt a little off, but otherwise I liked the idea of this, the tone, and the almost coda-like sense it has. Fantastic word choices, too, really elevated the tone for vampire fic to real literature, which is nice considering the overall philosophical tone of the piece.

Reminiscent of after-party regret and hangover, but with a sickening twist. Good to see the continuation of this series, though the farther along into the Vampire-ness it goes, the more typical it will get.

The contrast between the lyrics and the prose is really interesting, though it took me a few reads before I absorbed all of the detail.
