Ooh, well there’s an interesting twist. I actually followed all that surprisingly well. An extra adjective in the second paragraph to point to something wrong in the brain might have helped, and that last line could be dropped. Just minor nitpicks though.

Agree, last line, a little flat.
Now our historical and apocalyptic epic has turned sci-fi and I don’t mind at all.
