The Pedestrian
He picked up a pair of baby shoes that had somehow found its way to the top of an overflowing trash can. He looked at the shoes for a long moment, trying to decipher its history.
Realizing doing so was a paper chase through the fecundity of his invention, he looked around and said to himself, “I think I will put just this one baby shoe in that parking lot so another speculative soul may come along to wonder about its origins, and arrive at much more extravagant conclusions than myself.”
He walked to the parking lot and dropped the baby shoe.
