A Little Problem
After another silent night at home with the wife, going to work in the morning should be a blessing.
Unless you work in the mithril mines, where a body couldn’t tell it was morning regardless.
“Get any sleep Morj?” asks the foreman at the nearest elevator shaft.
“Too much.” replies Morjin with a sigh, grabbing his pickaxe and hardhat.
“Again, eh? Well, at least you’ve got the energy to work. So let’s get you to the new chamber we formed down is section 4-B,” the foreman explains, “You’re all signed in, good luck.”
The sound of acknowledgement barely escapes Morjin’s mouth as the elevator grates clank shut. A few minutes pass and Morjin finds himself stepping off the elevator and looking at the map on the wall with a crudely scrawled addition of Section 4-B.
Not two minutes after finding his postion, another worker stumbles into the chamber excitedly.
“Arh, Morjin, come quick! A newbie’s gone an’ uncovered a burrow!” he proclaims.
“A-HA! Now I’ll see some action!”
The two charge down the tunnel.
