LOCAL MAN CULTIVATES WONDER FRUIT

Mr. Brian Greene from Collumbus, Illinois is the winner of this year’s Farm Fair. Amidst the giant watermelons and the mammoth pumpkins a wonderful new fruit caught the attention of the judges, a new variety of watermelon, one shaped like a baby shoe.

Mr. Greene, a retired police officer, took upon himself the endeavor to create this weird variety.

“One day before my retirement I saw an abandoned baby shoe in a crime scene, the colors were so bright that my first thought was; it must be delicious. So, now that I have all the time in the world I created that same shoe I wanted to munch back then!”

The new variety, called simply Baby Shoe, might make Mr. Greene a rich man. He was approached by representatives of Monsanto shortly after the event. Will these designer fruits flood the market of the future? Only time will tell.
