haha, yep, been there a million times. I do writing exercises that help. For instance, I start to write every single word I can think of regardless of if they make sense together. Just to see how much I can write in 30 seconds… if an idea fails to find me by then I try to beat my previous word count. It helps to put words down— at least then you’ve beaten the blank page— and no one has to see what you wrote, ever. Also, focusing on describing details of a scene can sometimes flesh a story out. Instead of focusing on the big picture try describing a granule of sand on the street and build a setting or a scene from there… even think of how that granule of sand is important in some way.
But it’s hard work to write uninspired… I applaud you for doing so. There are no easy fixes.. fight through it or wait for inspiration.
