The atmosphere you created here was perfectly fitting to the context of the story. I’d love to know what the story behind Esteban is though.

Has a subtle comedic undertone to it. I really liked the impressed and apalled—definitely know that feeling. And I definitely felt the ritzy, decadent vibe and atmosphere here. Small point, second sentence is a fragment.
