It feels wrong commenting on this…but I still am, because this kind of writing is important to me.
I don’t know what to say. I don’t want to say I know how you feel, because I hate saying that… But I know this letter? Maybe because I’ve written it so many times before, in my head.
You brought up some thought-provoking issues in a lighthearted way, making them easier for a reader to digest. There is a whirlwind of emotions here; Tired, mockery, crazed, fear, allegiance, pretend, pretentiousness, and love, veiled in a simple message.
I noticed you ended the letter in verse. That was a nice touch of innocence.
I like it! Especially with the verse ending and the sign off. Heartfelt, and the humor helps resonate with like views of how any message can change over time.
I also grew up in a radical fundamentalist christian environment a.k.a. cult, yet surprisingly I’m not an atheist. It took many years of searching to finally catagorize myself as a spiritualist.
