Z, you seem to have found a niche with this sort of storytelling. You are very good at it, let me tell you. I don’t know why the focus on the pinkie, but I attribute that to my zombie ignorance and not yours. This is an excellent addition to the series and a fantastic cliffhanger.

Whoa, great action sequence. I love the grittiness and the desperation of it all. Love the sort of wild-eyed moment we’ve brought him to. Doesn’t look like he has good odds of making it very far.

And for the non-zombie-philes, any bite from a zombie, no matter how small (such as on a pinkie), eventually turns you into a zombie as well. It’s a standard zombie movie plot element and seems to tap into universal fears of contamination, infection, becoming tainted, etc.

The protagonist seems to believe that shooting off the damaged pinkie will save him, but those of us who have read the Zombie Survival Guide know that immediately removing the bitten limb only yields a roughly 10% chance of escaping infection.

Also, I think this story seriously needs a Mature tag.
