Very poetic and full of great lines of compact descriptions. I liked ‘solitary silhouette’ and some of the language is interesting to consider like, “her voice said…”
On first read I found it paltry and excessive in places. But on second read I actually enjoyed it more and appreciated how much it has to offer. Took me a second to catch on to your voice here.
Intriguing situation. Not sure what you meant by ‘synthesized voice’, but maybe that’s cause I didn’t read the bit before it. Lots of questions and tension throughout.
I love the line Her sultry, synthesized voice flowed from the handset on his blistered ear and into his calloused heart.
And. Maybe this wasn’t intentional but I smiled about the fact that her name is Penny and the story is Loose Change… I can see some double entendres there haha.
