My Memories, Part 4

We exchanged numbers, so we could keep in touch, before saying our last goodbyes. I was never one for final farewells, I’m still not.
I don’t know what compelled me to do what I did; maybe it was just the thought in my mind that I might not ever see this girl again. I don’t know.
Before I even knew what I was doing, I was brushing my long hair away from my face and grabbing her hands. Her hands were warm and limp while mine were shaking like nothing else. I leaned forward closed my eyes as our lips met. It all happened faster than words can describe it.
That kiss, even though it only lasted a second, was like an explosion in my head and heart. It’s like one of those moments where you’re so happy you’re high off of your own euphoria and you feel so great you could die right then and be completely fine with it.

Yes, I know she had a boyfriend at the time but…

“I love you, Andrea” I said, on the verge of tears, before running away from her.

I still don’t remember the look on her face as I ran away from her.
