I’m not sure if it was meant to (I haven’t read the rest of this series) but it made me laugh. Especially the fourth and last paragraphs.

It’s a change of POV (so I guess if the mood of this is entirely different it’s just a bit excusable). I think I wanted her to act like Amelia Earhart from the Night at the Museum movie.
