I like it! I do wonder, though, if an ‘ancient Chinaman’ isn’t a bit cliched. Mightn’t the finest wonton soup be cooked by an itinerant Zulu or a Mongol seamstress?

Sometimes tropes reused beyond recognition still have some room for originality (or so I would hope!)

I like the cliche, it would even work with green tea, although soup is a little more satisfying.

Or an antiquated Mexican rolling the perfect chimichanga…a positively sepulchral Transylvanian preparing a slab of steak extra rare…a hoary Welshman and his haggis…
