I like the reframing of time travel into its literal sense, something we all do. I wasn’t as big a fan of the last line, but I’m going to chalk that up to the character limit. It just felt flat, though it does set up the adventure to follow, so I get that.
I love the fact that there’s nobody left in the present to stay for, makes me feel a bit more for the character… the concept that the machine took him/her further than expected is intriguing, but 10,000 just seemed too far to have any idea what would be there… I suppose that may be the point, leaving endless possibilities. I find myself wanting the end of this portion to be “Sleepy”
