Elsha, not only is this a wonderful story by itself, but you have also managed to seamlessly connect together some beautiful pieces of mythology about the House.
I love that bit about the round the clock seance, and the house preparing a place for it.
The House itself is developing a living, breathing personality, which is absolutely wonderful!
In third grade I absolutely loved reading “Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator”. In fact that is presicely why I click on this story. Great job on it, by the way.
“The Great Glass Elevator was donated to the house, mysteriously crashing into the west garden one evening.”
Genius. I loved the image. A donation is often a benevolent gesture, and a jarring event such as this could easily be misconstrued as being the opposite!
