Metropolis: The City
Years after the Earth flooded over, Humans still thrive, for they had prepared for the inevitable. Hoverfans, running on steam power, hold aloft cities otherwise forgotten. Above the ocean, several of these cities exist. Guardrail upon guardrail keeping it’s citizens safe from the endless watery abyss below. The power supply coming from a combination of water and wind power. The cities are made from salvaged metal, its rusted turbines and windmills quietly creaking. Hovercraft quielty buzzed around, adding to the noise pollution.
All over the cities are museums of how the world used to be, car museums, and museums of nature, when trees were often taken for granted.
All previous world history, ancient cities, precious documents, were destroyed in the flooding. Suddenly, prehistoric meant before the year 2000.
