In drama we’re told not to ‘block’, which is where you contradict or nullify another person’s contribution. For example, one person says “Our boat’s sprung a leak” and another persons says “No we don’t” or “Oh, I’ve just patched that up.”
I get the strange feeling with this two-parter that you’ve blocked yourself. To have your protagonist go to a brothel, have his sexual orientation revealed to him and then have him turn down the flower and be given a refund seems to ‘block’ your own contributions in the last story.
Thanks for the advice, you are quite right, I realised that it certainly seemed strange to perform such an abrupt about turn.
As thebetweenspace says, it’s more the fact that such a dramatic and unexpected revelation leaves the main character more than a little confused. He just needs to give it a little time to let the truth settle in.
I had a look over the story and reworked it a little to make the protagonist’s motivations a little more uderstandable. I hope it makes a little more sense now. :)
