Nice piece you got here, JD. The voice reminds me of the bullying of an older sister. “You better not, or I’ll pound you,” sort of thing. You do it anyway, and of course, run for your life afterwards. []o)

I am still wondering if he died. Was he in a space ship or a enclosed habitat on a planet somewhere? Is this voice correct, or lying to him? I love ficly’s that make you wonder and come up with all sorts of scenario’s in your head.

Thanks! I wanted to leave the ending ambigious. The character chose to trust himself over the Voice, so he took a leap of faith, not knowing whether he would be right or not. I wanted the reader to be forced to take that leap also.

I really like this! Half of me wanted him to push the button and the other half was cringing at what could happen … which is a good thing, in my book.

I just hope it was not another world which he was entering in!!! Nice one
